Everything you need to know about buying hallmarked gold and silver jewellery from Shivam Jewellers, Deoria.
All our gold jewellery carries the BIS hallmark, as Indian law requires: the BIS logo, the purity grade (for example 22K916) and a 6-digit HUID code unique to that piece. Every silver piece has its purity stated on the product page and invoice — for example 925 sterling silver or 999 fine silver.
Install the official BIS CARE app, open "Verify HUID" and enter the 6-digit code engraved on the piece. The app shows the purity, the type of article and the registered jeweller and hallmarking centre, so you can confirm the hallmark is genuine.
24K gold is 99.9% pure and too soft for most jewellery. 22K gold is 91.6% pure (hallmarked 22K916) and is the standard for traditional Indian jewellery. 18K gold is 75% pure (18K750); the added alloy makes it harder, so it suits stone-set and lightweight everyday designs.
925 sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver mixed with 7.5% other metals, usually copper, which makes it strong enough for jewellery. 999 fine silver is 99.9% pure and is used for coins, bars, idols and silverware.
Every product page lists the metal, purity, net weight and gross weight, and the price breakdown shows the metal value, making charge and GST separately.
Price = metal value + making charge + 3% GST. The metal value comes from today's live gold or silver rate and the piece's weight and purity. The making charge is either a percentage of the metal value or a fixed amount, and is shown on every product page under "Price breakdown".
Our prices are linked to the live gold and silver rate, which moves with the market. When the rate changes, the price of each piece updates automatically, so you always pay the current rate rather than a padded fixed price.
Yes. Product prices on our website include 3% GST. The metal rates shown in the rate bar and on the Gold & Silver Rate Today page are before GST.
Our Gold & Silver Rate Today page shows the live 24K, 22K and 18K gold rate and the silver rate used for pricing at Shivam Jewellers, per gram, per 10 grams and per kg.

Many of our rings are adjustable open designs. For fixed sizes, ring and bangle product pages have a size guide: for rings, measure the inside diameter of a ring that fits you (size 6 is about 16.5 mm and size 12 about 21.4 mm); for bangles, measure around the widest part of your hand with your thumb folded in. If you are between sizes, size up.
